Job Summary and Qualifications

The Staff Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care, including computer order entry, drug distribution, evaluation of medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dose, frequency and adequacy of monitoring, evaluation of drug interactions and allergies and therapeutic monitoring of drugs.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for coordinating drug distribution activities in areas under supervision, including supervision of pharmacy technicians, order verification of medication orders, resolution of medication‑related problems, and preparation of parenteral products (IV admixtures, cytotoxic chemotherapeutic agents).
  • Perform pharmacy clinical activities, including but not limited to providing pharmacokinetic consults, monitoring targeted drugs, antimicrobial therapy recommendations, and evaluating appropriateness of drug therapy based on disease state, host factors, and cost effectiveness.
  • Serve as a source of drug information to medical and nursing staff.
  • Perform patient‑care unit inspections as required to meet regulatory requirements.
