Department InformationThe School of Government and International Affairs prepares students to be engaged citizens and high‑performing professionals with the skills and knowledge to address vital local, regional, national, and international challenges through relevant curricula with experiential learning, community involvement, and global engagement. Through our various undergraduate and graduate programs and outreach activities, the faculty and students work together to engage in independent scholarship and professional development in areas such as domestic and international politics and public administration.

Job SummaryKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for full‑time, non‑tenure track faculty positions as Lecturer of Political Science in the School of Government and International Affairs with a preferred start date of August 2026. These are nine‑month contracted positions. These positions are for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities- Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Political Science.
- Teaching courses of variable size and modalities, including large class sizes.
- A strong commitment to undergraduate education and mentorship.
- Service to department, college, University, and profession.
- To teach undergraduate courses:
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a closely related discipline is required at the time of hire.
- OR
- A minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in a non‑related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline is required at the time of hire.
- To teach graduate courses:
- A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a related discipline is required at the time of hire.
- Candidates with a Ph.D., or the foreign equivalent, in Political Science or a related field.
