To provide appropriate learning experiences and educational opportunities for each student assigned to the class.

REQUIREMENTS
:

  • Education Level: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
    Preferred: Advanced degree(s)
  • Experience, Skill and Certification:
    Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in the assigned teaching field.

  • Virtual Duties and Responsibilities

    • Ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in the Virtual Platform in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skills.
    • Uses a variety of programs and software applications, as appropriate, to complete instructional and administrative tasks.
    • Participate in professional learning to enhance ability to provide engaging online instruction
    • Participate in required Professional Learning that leads to virtual teaching endorsement.
    • Clearly articulates deadlines, schedules, and procedures to students and parents to ensure that students complete coursework in a timely manner.

    General Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Teacher Duties and Responsibilities

    • Follows professional practices consistent with school and district policies in working with students, students’ records, parents, and colleagues
    • Complies with school, district, and state administrative regulations and Board of Education policies
    • Demonstrates professional practices in teaching
    • Acts in a professional manner and assumes responsibility for the total school program, its safety and good order

    2. Performs other duties as required based on the specific content area taught (such as content‑area competitions, after‑hours activities, and so on).

    3. Plans and coordinates purposeful assignments for paraprofessional(s), other supporting staff, and volunteer(s), and provides input to the administrative staff on the performance of these individuals.

    4. Performs other duties as required by the district, the school, or student need.

    Terms of Employment: Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 190 days. Salary will be determined based on level of certification and allowable experience.

    Physical and Sensory Demands:
    The category applicable for this position is CLASSROOM. Employees in this category spend most of the workday in a typical classroom or related educational environment. Physical demands include prolonged standing or walking, bending, stooping, stretching, occasional lifting or pulling of equipment or supplies. Reading, listening, writing, and speaking are requirements. Rarely, lifting or restraint of a student may be required.

    Position Type: Full‑Time

    Salary: $52,836 to $109,029 Per Year
