Student Assistant - Mathematics Academic Resource Center (MARC) Embedded Tutor

Location: Middle Georgia State University

Employment Type: Temporary, Part-Time (Maximum 2.5 hours per week)

Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is a multi‑campus public institution offering baccalaureate and graduate degrees. MGA serves approximately 8,400 students from throughout Georgia and operates a fully‑online campus.

The Mathematics Academic Resource Center (MARC) pairs an Embedded Tutor with an MGA math course to encourage student learning and engagement.

• Attend class hours of an assigned MGA math course on a weekly basis.
• Speak with the course instructor of the assigned course on a weekly basis.
• Offer students in class assistance where appropriate as determined by the course instructor.
• Assist students with learning platforms such as ALEKS and D2L.
• Assist students with technology such as the TI‑84 calculator.
• Assist students with study techniques, note taking, and scheduling.

• Currently enrolled student in at least 6 credit hours at Middle Georgia State University.
• Current GPA of at least 3.00.
• Concurrently employed as a MARC tutor.
• Good communication skills.
• Comfortable with basic technology.
