Strings Teacher

Candidates must be fully authorized to work in the United States.

Savannah Classical Academy Charter School is a locally authorized K-12 public charter school and operates autonomously from the county school system. SCA is growing and adding an additional strings teacher.

Teachers are members of the CEO's instructional team and are responsible for duties related to academic programs and operational practices.

• Demonstrates mastery of related subject matter, instructional skills, and resource materials for course(s) taught.
• Creates lesson plans aligned with current state standards, driving instruction through formative assessment and differentiation.
• Maintains a positive classroom environment that supports the school-wide behavior expectations.
• Uses available technology to enhance students  learning experiences.
• Attends and participates in faculty meetings and extra-curricular/school-related activities.
• Maintains a professional appearance and demonstrates responsible, conscientious behavior.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the CEO.
• Follows professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students, students  records, parents, and colleagues.
• Facilitates home-school communication through methods such as communication folders, conferences, calls, and written communications.
• Demonstrates professional practices in teaching, including:
• Models correct use of language, oral and written
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of content
• Implements designated curriculum and grade-level standards
• Keeps lesson plans as required by school policy
• Assigns instructional tasks and homework to students
• Takes precautions to protect records, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Supports TRS participation and eligibility for related benefits; all SCA employees are provided with $20K of life insurance at no cost.

• Education Level: Four-year degree from an accredited college or university with teaching certification.
• Experience, Skills, and Certification:
  Classroom teaching experience; knowledge of best instructional practices; ability to lead and coach adults; eligible for Leadership Certification.
• Preferred:
  Experience working with children in a Georgia school setting as a core content classroom teacher.

• Salary: $2000.00 supplement added to the appropriate teacher salary scale step
• Work Days: 190 days
