Overview

Target is hiring for a Food & Beverage Expert in the Food & Beverage team. The role focuses on delivering a consistent guest experience by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The team leads food and food services including replenishment, inventory accuracy, food safety, presentation, pricing and promotional signing processes for all Food & Beverage areas of the store.

• Deliver an exceptional guest experience, providing a fresh and full shopping experience during all hours of operation, prioritizing the guest’s needs over task
• Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food & Beverage Standards
• Execute Food & Beverage processes including food deliveries, replenishment, merchandising, in-stocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, signing and storing reserve product
• Follow all food safety requirements as outlined in Target’s policies and procedures
• Use sampling and suggestive selling to promote products and increase sales
• Work with vendors to set and adjust sales floor displays and maintain organized backroom space
• Identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process according to Target’s policies and procedures
• Be knowledgeable about tools, products, and services available in the total store to solve guest issues and improve their experience
• Comply with federal, state and local adult beverage laws as they apply to the business
• Care for and use PPE appropriately; follow equipment control guidelines
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
• Work safely at all times and report hazards; follow safety policies and training
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pickup and Drive-up while maintaining compliance with laws
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and assisting with their needs
• Thank guests and invite them back to shop Target
• All other duties based on business needs

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older (Bakery only)
• Previous food or grocery experience is preferred but not required

• Ability to communicate using multiple devices and operate handheld scanners and other technology
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to resolve guest questions quickly
• Attention to detail and ability to follow multi-step processes
• Ability to stay focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established time frames

• Ability to handle cash register operations as needed
• Ability to climb ladders
• Ability to scan, handle and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds
• Flexible work schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to work in cold environments (34°F to
  -10°F) as needed
• Ability to work in spaces where allergens may be present
• Exposure to varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements during certain duties (e.g., Drive-Up, carryout)
• Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift
