Youth Program Coordinator; Summer Seasonal

The Youth Program Coordinator provides assistance and support to the Recreation Supervisor on summer events, playground camps, and sports camp program preparation. Leadership and interaction with other team members and the public is a key component of this position.

Required hours are Monday – Friday, plus occasional weekends, with hours ranging from 30 – 40+ per week. Must be available to work morning, afternoon and evening hours.

This position begins in May and will run through August.

Anticipated Pay Range for New Hires: $23.48/hour - $25.40/hour

• Assists in the implementation of recreation programs and ensures a safe, friendly, and enjoyable atmosphere for all participants (ages 3 to 12).
• Provides effective communication with all internal and external user groups.
• Attends and participates in program and operational meetings - providing input and updates on programs, events and services.
• Supports Recreation Supervisor with patron relations, registrations, special events and programs.
• Assists in the supervision of all youth program staff by providing work direction, monitoring activities, coordinating schedules, organizing meetings and assisting with all aspects of summer operations.

• Requires a high school diploma or GED, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work.
• Must be First Aid and CPR certified.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have a valid driver's license, as employees may travel from park to park.
• Previous experience working with children is required.

• Previous experience working in similar field, developing and implementing programs and activities for children.
• Previous leadership experience.
• Experience working with people with disabilities.

Requires the ability to lift at least 80 pounds.
