Responsibilities- Develop and oversee daily transportation plans to ensure efficient routing and timely deliveries.
- Allocate drivers and equipment based on service requirements, route demands, and vehicle capacity.
- Coordinate dispatch operations and track driver progress to maintain schedule compliance.
- Manage company fleet operations, ensuring all vehicles are properly maintained, inspected, and compliant with safety standards.
- Schedule preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to reduce downtime and extend fleet lifespan.
- Analyze fuel consumption, mileage, and operational data to improve overall fleet efficiency.
- Lead and support drivers, dispatchers, and loading personnel through coaching, training, and performance management.
- Facilitate ongoing driver training focused on safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service expectations.
- Conduct performance reviews and address performance concerns with appropriate corrective action.
- Ensure full compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and industry safety standards.
- Perform safety audits and investigate accidents or incidents, implementing corrective and preventative measures.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, vendors, and internal departments to resolve transportation-related issues.
- Monitor service performance metrics including on-time delivery, driver productivity, and fleet utilization.
- Prepare operational reports and use data analysis to drive continuous improvement and cost control initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Transportation, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in transportation or fleet operations with supervisory responsibility.
- Working knowledge of DOT regulations, compliance requirements, and transportation safety standards.
- Experience using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and route optimization software.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive accountability.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
- Solid problem-solving and decision-making abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules based on operational needs.
