Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Long Term Care Location Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
ScheduleDays 12 hours, from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, with a 36-hour guarantee.
Job DescriptionUnder the supervision of a Registered Nurse, the LPN assists with nursing care for patients of all ages. The LPN participates in patient/resident and family teaching and works cooperatively with ancillary nursing staff to maintain high standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Responsibilities- Administers medications and performs treatments to assigned patients/residents, utilizing technical skills within LPN license and training. Participates in team conferences and contributes to the development of individualized nursing care plans.
- Reports changes in assessment, pertinent reactions, and observations regarding patients/residents to the Registered Nurse and accurately records these observations.
- Assists with or initiates emergency measures for sudden adverse developments in patients/residents.
- Maintains the standards of nursing care while implementing hospital and Nursing Department policies and procedures, including the maintenance of patient rights.
- Collaborates as part of the nursing team by accepting assignments and continues assessing patients/residents after the initial Registered Nurse assessment.
- Carries out appropriate nursing actions in accordance with the nursing plan of care established by the Registered Nurse.
- 2+ years of Long Term Care (LTC) experience is required.
- Active Michigan LPN license.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Skills checklist pertinent to LTC, current within the last year.
- Completed two supervisory reference forms within the last two years.
