A leading maritime and logistics organization is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Port Operations Coordinator to join thier team in Jizan. If you have strong maritime operations experience and thrive in a fast-paced port environment, we would like to hear from you.
Job Purpose:The Port Operations Coordinator will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing vessel port call operations. This role ensures smooth execution of loading and discharge activities in coordination with MAWANI, terminal operators, and all relevant service providers, while maintaining compliance with SOPs, shipping regulations, and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities:Planning & Coordination
- Ensure pre-planning of vessel port operations for smooth execution
- Prepare and present vessel call plans to MAWANI operations team
- Coordinate special operational requirements and secure necessary pre-approvals
- Oversee vessel requirements and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- Liaise with local authorities for inward/outward vessel clearance
- Submit cargo manifests and obtain required permissions to avoid penalties
- Monitor cargo loading/discharge activities and update operational systems
- Supervise stevedores and ensure proper cargo handling, including hazardous materials
- Ensure compliance with MAWANI HSE standards and company SOPs
- Coordinate crew embarkation/disembarkation
- Manage port dues invoices and ensure timely processing
- Secure gate passes, port passes, and required permits
- Conduct performance review meetings with terminal operators
- Identify and resolve operational issues promptly
- Maintain effective communication with customers, agents, ship owners, and port authorities
- Ensure safe working environment and regulatory compliance
- Support and guide operational teams
- Provide on-the-job technical training
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
Experience:
- Technical Diploma or Associate Degree in a related field
- Experience in port/shipping operations within the maritime industry
- Strong understanding of vessel agency operations and port regulations
- Proven experience coordinating with port authorities and terminal operators
- Ownership & Customer Focus
- Marine Logistics / Freight Forwarding expertise
- Proactive leadership and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple stakeholders
