Safety Officer

The Safety Officerensures safety in transportation by

• Conducting inspections,
• Providing training,
• Investigating incidents,
• Enforcing regulations for vehicles, personnel, and passengers, covering road, rail, transport to prevent accidents,
• Manage risks and hazards
• Maintain compliance with health and safety standards.
• Responding to emergencies to protect people and property.
• Managing fleet journey and driver compliance to screening the equipment,

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance & Policy:
  
  Implement and enforce transport health, safety, and security regulations (like
  
  OSHA,TSA) and company policies.
• Inspections & Audits:
  
  Regularly inspect vehicles, equipment, facilities, and operations for safety, ensuring everything from tires to screening technology meets standards.
• Training & Awareness:
  
  Educate drivers, handlers, and staff on safe operating procedures, emergency responses, hazard recognition, and proper use of safety equipment.
• Risk Management:
  
  Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement preventative measures to minimize accidents and long-term health risks.
• Incident Management:
  
  Investigate accidents, injuries, and security breaches, report findings, and help implement corrective actions.
• Fleet & Equipment control:
  
  Maintain vehicle records, manage servicing schedules, and ensure all equipment (like forklifts, cranes and other machines) is safe and certified.
• Emergency Response:
  
  Act as part of the response team for transport-related incidents, controlling traffic, managing evacuations, and assisting the public.
• Documentation & Reporting:
  
  Maintain detailed records of inspections, training, incidents, and compliance, using data to improve safety programs.
• Public Interaction:
  
  Engage with clients, address concerns, provide directions, and help create a positive, secure business experience.
