Your Opportunity at SECURE

As our General Labourer you will be responsible for day‑to‑day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site. This role is based out of Martensville, SK.

The Team

This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the site team.

Work Environment

This is a full‑time permanent position working an 8:00 am to 5:00 pm shift.

A Day in the Life
  • Ensure all SECURE safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Be cognizant of and adhere to any site‑specific safety requirements.
  • Partake in all safety‑related meetings including daily tail gates and last‑minute risk assessment.
  • Work well with other workers.
  • Operate and service small equipment such as forklifts, skid steers, cut‑off saws, and stationary balers.
  • Sort non‑ferrous material, cut material to size and package.
  • Be willing to be trained on other positions.
  • Have an understanding of all power and small tools.
  • Conduct pre‑operational checks on equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate and fuel all equipment and perform general site housekeeping.
  • Notify supervisor and/or repair shop of any required work to be done.
  • Other related duties as required.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
  • General labouring and/or farm experience is an asset but not required.
  • Experience working with metals is an asset but we will train.
  • Basic comprehension and ability to follow SECURE’s Workplace Health and Safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site.
  • Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions.
  • Ability to manage weather and/or seasonal interruptions in work schedule.
  • Certification in WHIMS or First Aid is considered an asset.
