Position OverviewAn Agriculture District Sales Manager is responsible for maintaining and growing sales with the territory by developing strong relationships with existing and new customers. This role combines technical agronomy expertise with strategic business development to drive growth in the region. This role is remote and will travel their territory to meet with customers, and grow sales.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Business Growth
- Maintain and strengthen existing sales within the region.
- Develop and execute strategies to achieve year-over-year sales growth.
- Identify and pursue new customer opportunities within the territory.
- Build and sustain long-term relationships with retailers, and growers.
Agronomy & Technical Support
- Conduct on-farm grower trials to demonstrate product performance and generate regional data.
- Provide agronomic and crop fertility training to customers, dealers, and internal teams.
- Offer technical support and product recommendations based on local soil, crop, and environmental conditions.
Strategic Planning
- Develop and implement a business strategy for the region aligned with company goals.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform business decisions.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and agronomy teams to coordinate regional initiatives.
- Contribute to team meetings, product launches, and seasonal sales programs.
Travel
- Limited overnight travel within the region to meet customers, conduct field visits, and attend industry events as required.
- Proven experience in agricultural sales, agronomy, or crop input distribution.
- Strong knowledge of crop fertility, soil science, and crop production systems.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven with the ability to work independently.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate across departments.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
- Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, or a related field.
- The base compensation for this position ranges from $81,300 - $119,390 with bonus potential. Note that wages may vary based on location, skills, and experience.
