About Your New Role:

Reporting to either the Supervisor, Maintenance Operations, the Mechanic, Industrial, will install, maintain, dismantle, and overhaul machinery, such as heavy mechanical equipment, conveyor systems, pulleys, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems. Works from plans and blueprints, does installations, do overhauls and repairs which require the use of hand tools and power tools. The use of lathes, milling machines and grinders may be required to make customized parts or repairs.

Your

Key Responsibilities:

• Moves machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.

• Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails, using hand tools and power tools.

• Constructs foundation for machines, using hand tools and building materials, such as wood, cement, and steel.

• Aligns machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers, and plumb bobs.

• Assembles machines, and bolts, welds, rivets, or otherwise fastens them to foundation or other structures, using hand tools and power tools.

• May operate engine lathe to grind, file, and turn machine parts to dimensional specifications.

• May repair and lubricate machines and equipment.

• May perform installation and maintenance work as part of team of skilled trades workers.

• Read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain vacuum, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

• Any other duties as assigned by the department.

Your Knowledge and

Skills:

• Repair and maintenance of milling equipment such as grinding mills, crushers, pumps, motors, conveyor belts, etc.

• Continuous improvement mindset.

• Knowledge and understanding of the systems, process, and hazards.

• Good communication skills.

• Positive and proactive attitude towards safety.

Your

Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have:

• Valid Saskatchewan or Inter-provincial Millwright trade certification.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience or more as a millwright.

• Mining experience is an asset, especially gold mining.

• Mill experience is required an asset.
