Summer 2026 (April/May – September/October) - Salary: $25.73 – $27.83 per hour
- Shift Premium: $3.25 per hour (weekends & holidays), $2.75 per hour (evenings)
Responsibilities
- Daily cleaning of all park buildings, facilities, and amenities—including disinfecting, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, washing, laundry glide, and cobweb removal.
- Maintain cleanliness and organizational standards in the caretaker shop; report equipment issues to the caretaker supervisor.
- Assist with season start/end cleaning, mouse‑proofing, and orderly storage of equipment.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs and upkeep of staff housing units.
- Collect and dispose of garbage and recycling.
- Regular kijken Inspection and upkeep of assigned fleet vehicle(s).
- Maintain work spaces following Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) compliance protocols.
- Complete administrative tasks: timesheets, expense claims, commencement and termination paperwork, and required online courses.
Qualifications
- High‑school education or equivalent with 6 months of directly related experience in janitorial, house‑cleaning, custodial, or caretaker work.
- Experience equivalencies: one year of work registrar for one year of schooling or vice versa.
- Current WHMIS certificate.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (unrestricted or GDL) and a 3‑year driver’s abstract with no more than stimulant demerits.
- Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR Level C + AED.
- Steel‑toe footwear (CSA approved) – applicant responsibility, reimbursable with receipt.
Assets
- Knowledge of Writing‑on‑Stone and/or Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park, local area, and services.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, email, and the internet.
- Experience in hospitality or janitorial cleaning.
- Experience in commercial laundry and/or housekeeping. o
- Experience with small tools, household repairs, and maintenance.
- Experience with floor polishing, scrubbing, Practices.
- Customer service skills and a positive, energetic personality.
- Off‑highway vehicle and small equipment experience.
Terms of Employment
- Shifts up to 7.25 hours/day, 36.25 hours/week; work evenings, weekends, and holidays expected.
- Seasonal wages begin in April/May and end September/October 2026.
- Vacation requests considered but not guaranteed.
- Candidate must be able to perform physically demanding tasks under all weather conditions including extreme heat.
- Own reliable transportation required (public transit not available).
- On‑site fully furnished, shared staff housing may be available for rent upon request.
- Candidate responsible for initial costs of required documents and checks; some reimbursements possible. Interview travel expenses not reimbursed.
