Role

Summary

We are seeking a Quality Control Analyst / Tester to work alongside a Business Analyst, Power Platform Architect / Lead Senior Developer, and cross‑functional delivery team. This role is responsible for planning and executing manual and automated testing on business application software, ensuring high quality across apps, workflows, integrations, and data.

The Tester will primarily use Azure Dev Ops for test management and defect tracking, building traceability from user stories through test cases to release sign‑off. The ideal candidate is comfortable testing low‑code solutions end‑to‑end and developing automation to scale regression coverage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain test strategy and test plans for business application delivery (functional, regression, integration, data, security, performance).
  • Create and manage test suites, test cases, and test execution cycles in Azure Dev Ops Test Plans, ensuring traceability to backlog items.
  • Design and build automated test scripts to support regression and critical‑path validation (UI and/or API level).
  • Validate acceptance criteria with the Business Analyst and technical feasibility with the Architect.
  • Log, triage, and track defects in Azure Dev Ops, including severity/prioritization recommendations and retest confirmation.
  • Support release readiness by providing test completion reports, defect summaries, and go/no‑go input.
  • Continuously improve QC practices: reusable test assets, automation coverage, and test data management.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years in QC/testing roles with a blend of manual and automation testing.
  • Demonstrated experience with Azure Dev Ops Test Management (test plans, test cases).
  • Experience testing low‑code / SaaS / web applications with complex workflows and data integration surfaces.
  • Strong understanding of testing fundamentals: test design techniques, boundary/negative testing, regression approaches, and risk‑based testing.
  • Familiarity with automation tools/frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar (tool‑agnostic; prove ability to automate).
  • Ability to validate data and integrations (REST APIs, JSON payloads, connector outputs) using Postman or equivalent API query, debug and dev tools.
  • Ability to validate outputs with independent queries using T‑SQL, Fetch or other database query languages.
  • Solid communication skills and ability to work closely with developers and analysts.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with Microsoft tooling (e.g., Easy Repro, Power Platform Monitor, Dataverse Plugin Trace Logs).
  • API test automation experience (Postman/Newman, REST‑assured, or similar).
  • Understanding of CI/CD and how tests fit into pipelines.
  • Exposure to performance testing concepts for apps/flows and delegation constraints in Power Apps.
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., PL‑400/PL‑200, or relevant QA certs) are a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with a structured, analytical mindset.
  • Comfortable switching between manual exploration and automation building.
  • Ownership of quality end‑to‑end, not just test execution.
  • Clear, concise defect reporting and stakeholder communication.
  • Proactive risk identification and continuous improvement orientation.
