About the roleCoVet is seeking a forward-thinking and hands‑on finance leader to oversee financial strategy, operational scalability, and corporate accounting functions across multiple markets. As the Head of Finance, you will play a critical role in evolving and scaling how financial insights are created, communicated and operationalized across a rapidly expanding, and global product.
This leader will shape and refine the systems, processes and analytical rigor that scale with CoVet’s growth bringing clarity, consistency and speed to decision‑making while empowering our operating departments to manage performance with confidence. You will partner with leaders across the organization to modernize our FP&A infrastructure and strengthen a cohesive framework that enhances visibility, accountability and strategic alignment.
The ideal candidate combines strong strategic orientation with a willingness to dive deep. You have seen what “great” looks like in high‑growth, multi‑market environments and know how to build scalable planning, reporting and analytics foundations that unlock value across a diverse portfolio.
What you’ll do- Oversee and guide the financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis processes across multiple markets.
- Partner closely with executive leadership and department heads to align financial strategies with corporate goals and growth initiatives.
- Lead the development of a multi‑year financial plan, incorporating business trends, competitive dynamics, and investment strategies.
- Manage and develop a team, ensuring strong financial rigor, analytical capabilities, and leadership bench strength.
- Drive strategic financial initiatives, including performance optimization, profitability analysis, and capital allocation.
- Consolidate and present financial results and forecasts finance leaders and other senior executives, highlighting key drivers and risks.
- Enhance forecasting methodologies, analytical frameworks, and financial systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing strategic priorities through data‑driven insights and scenario planning.
- Lead cross‑functional initiatives to support growth strategies, product launches, and operational excellence.
- Own the financial reporting cadence, ensuring accuracy and rigor of financial results, and serve as a key financial voice explaining both granular financials and broader narratives to stakeholders.
- Drive robust financial reporting capabilities by developing and implementing appropriate revenue and expense tracking methodologies.
- Identify areas of exposure to complex accounting transactions, review, analyze, and interpret these transactions to ensure compliance with accounting standards, implementing best practices to reduce exposure.
- Manage and forecast cash flow to support business operations.
- Ensure financial and tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions (Canada, USA, UK and the EU), including value‑added tax and transfer pricing positions.
- Optimize tax structures, treasury functions, and cross‑border financial strategies to maximize profitability in a growing and scaling environment.
- Enhance sales tax compliance, implementing software for efficiency where required.
- Own the end‑to‑end financial audit process, including relationships with external auditors and statutory account preparations.
- Own lender compliance reporting, including covenant forecasting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive Accounting and FP&A experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
- Deep expertise in strategic financial planning, forecasting, and business partnership within a technology or high‑growth environment.
- Proven success managing and developing finance and accounting professionals.
- Exceptional analytical, problem‑solving, and storytelling skills; adept at synthesizing complex data into clear executive insights.
- Strong command of financial systems and planning tools and experience in an AI driven environment.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, matrixed organization and influence at all levels.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and executive presentation skills.
