Qualifications

The Temporary Tax Manager will support the finance and administration team, focusing on tax compliance, tax planning, and maintaining accurate records. The role includes reviewing financial statements for proper tax treatment and identifying tax‑saving opportunities, while contributing to process improvements and internal knowledge building.

• Review year‑end files and prepare for tax filings
• Prepare and review tax returns (corporate, trust, partnership, personal, foundations) and related working papers
• Review K-1 and T5013 slips
• Maintain files for U.S. federal and state corporate and personal tax filings
• Prepare tax forecasts and manage monthly/quarterly instalments
• Oversee T1134 filings and follow up on tax assessments
• Monitor tax law updates to ensure compliance
• Assist in tax planning and identify savings opportunities
• Act as the primary contact for tax audits
• Lead initiatives to digitize and automate tax processes

• Degree in Taxation (CICA program or Master’s) and CPA designation
• 5+ years of experience in tax and accounting
• Experience in investment management or real estate (asset)
• Knowledge of U.S. tax rules and foreign reporting (T1134, T1135, T106)
• Strong organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills
• High proficiency in Excel and Taxprep
• Strong communication skills and high integrity
