Position: Treasurer for CMHA
Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Saskatoon Branch

The Canadian Mental Health Association, Saskatoon Branch is seeking a skilled and committed volunteer to serve as Treasurer on its Board of Directors.

CMHA Saskatoon is a respected community-based organization dedicated to promoting mental wellness, supporting recovery, and ensuring access to mental health resources for individuals and families in our community.

Role Overview
The Treasurer plays a key leadership role in supporting the financial health, transparency, and sustainability of the organization. Working closely with the Board of Directors, Executive Director, and Finance Committee, the Treasurer provides financial oversight and strategic guidance to ensure strong governance and accountability.

Key Responsibilities

Provide oversight of the organization’s financial management and reporting

Review financial statements and budgets

Support financial planning, risk management, and internal controls

Chair or participate in the Finance Committee

Act as a financial resource to the Board and Executive Director

Time Commitment

Board meetings held every second month

Participation in Finance Committee meetings as required

Term:
Typically 2–3 years

Ideal Candidate

CPA designation or significant professional experience in accounting, finance, or financial management

Experience with financial statements, budgeting, and governance

Interest in community service and mental health advocacy

Prior board experience is an asset but not required
