Raise is currently hiring a contract  Quality Systems Engineer  on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection.

Note:

The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.

Description
The Quality Systems Engineer in this role will be responsible for the health of the organization’s Management Systems. You will lead investigations into non-conformances, drive continuous improvement through Lean methodologies, and ensure that all project deliverables—from technical turnover packages to factory testing—comply with ISO 9001 and client requirements.

Responsibilities

Conduct investigations for management system events and project non-conformances, ensuring thorough documentation and corrective actions.

Support departmental continuous improvement initiatives and management system development activities.

Assist with internal audit processes to maintain compliance and operational effectiveness.

Apply knowledge of project risk management activities to identify and mitigate potential issues.

Provide support during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) to verify quality, performance, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

Intermediate (4-9 yrs) or Senior (10+ yrs) of quality/management system experience supporting or leading internal audits within a highly regulated environment.

Root Cause Analysis – Prior experience with methodologies like TapRooT, Fishbone (Ishikawa), or 5 Whys.

Management System & Audit Experience – Experience maintaining or developing frameworks such as ISO 9001:2015. Lean, Six Sigma, etc.

Technical Quality Oversight (FAT & Turnover)

– Experience with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and/or managing Turnover Packages (TOPs).

Proficiency in Quality Tech Stacks – Advanced use of SharePoint (for document control) and Microsoft 365 (specifically Excel for data tracking or Power BI for reporting).

Project Risk Integration (nice to have)

– Experience with Risk Registers, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), or project risk software.

Education And Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Business, or a related technical field.

Lead Auditor training (ISO 9001)

Certified Quality Engineer), Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), or PMP (nice to have).

Additional Information

As this is a safety Sensitive Role Pre-access substance testing will be required.
