Structural Technologist

The Structural Technologist will:

• Provide structural design and CAD work in support of the development of 3D models and 2D drawings, including all construction details for concrete, steel and architectural projects executed within Cameco

• 3D Modeling as required

• Ensure design work is done in accordance with Cameco’s processes, procedures, standards, design criteria and regulatory requirements

• Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and materials takeoff (MTO)

• Adherence to company and site-specific Health and Safety protocols

• Ensuring the projects’ needs are met in a timely and effective manner

• Be responsible for planning, drafting, modelling, checking and the quality of the structural deliverables

• Working within a technical team and maintaining a positive relationship with teammates, clients and contractors

Requirements

• 10 or more years of experience in a similar role
• Technologist certification
• Previous experience with structural design work
• Experience and/or familiarity of software (Advanced Steel, Revit, Plant 3D, Navisworks, Jetstream, AutoCAD)
• Occasional travel to site by aircraft
• Experience providing design expertise in a mining projects environment
• Knowledge and/or familiarity of applicable codes (NBCC, NFCC, etc.) and standards
• Familiar with construction materials and activities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently, be self motivated and reliable
