What you'll do:
Reporting to the Manager, Policy, Program Development and Readiness, this position is responsible for designing, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive training programs that enhance the knowledge, skills, and performance of SCIC’s Operation’s Division staff. The role ensures onboarding and ongoing functional skills development initiatives are effective, consistent, and aligned with organizational goals and values. The successful candidate will work onsite in one of the following office locations:
Melville, Moose Jaw, Moosomin, North Battleford, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Tisdale, or Yorkton.

Develop and deliver functional skills training programs for operational staff across Insurance and Agri Stability, ensuring content is clear, accessible, and relevant providing a consistent employee experience by using various methodologies of instruction, including eLearningsolutions.

Facilitate and plan virtual and in-person onboarding sessions that ensure a smooth transition for new hires, reinforce organizational standards, and align with SCIC values for a consistent employee experience.

Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), product managers, operations managers, field supervisors, other trainers, policy teams, and internal committees to develop, update, and validate training content and resources that reflect SCIC’s current policies, systems, and operational practices.

Work closely with in-house agronomist to research and maintain best practices related to crop adjusting and in-field safety, reflecting changes in training material.

Evaluate training effectiveness by gathering participant feedback by applying informal assessment methods (e.g., Kirkpatrick Model) for both content and delivery.

Participate in identifying staff training needs using training needs analysis and best practices to prepare learning plans.

Evaluate skill levels, performance and competence of training participants and provide specialized assistance for individuals. Make recommendations based on training session evaluations to maximize effectiveness and impact of future training.

Coordinate functional skills onboarding and training logistics, including scheduling, resource preparation, communication with managers and tracking completion to ensure timely and efficient program delivery.

Support managers and mentors by providing tools, guidance, and best practices that promote consistent learning experiences for operational staff. Maintain and update training resources including templates, job aids, and onboarding materials, ensuring alignment with operational changes and organizational priorities.

Serve as a Learning Management System (LMS) learning administrator, managing course setup, enrollment, tracking, reporting, and troubleshooting within SCIC’s Learning Management System.

Partner with other training consultants, and project teams to share best practices and maintain consistency in training approaches across SCIC.

Qualifications:

The knowledge and skills required for this position are acquired through completion of a two-year diploma program specializing in business, agriculture or adult education and curriculum design, supplemented by a minimum of two years’ experience in developing and delivering training programs. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Knowledge of the agriculture industry and business risk management programs.

Knowledge of crop adjusting practice.

Strong understanding of instructional methods, curriculum design principles, adult learning theory and blended learning strategies with the ability to apply adult learning principles through design, analysis and delivery.

Proven presentation and facilitation skills, supported by excellent verbal, written, and listening communication abilities.

Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate a variety multiple training initiatives effectively.

Knowledge and experience with computer programs including Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Dynamics 365, One Note, and Teams), and in conducting internet research; familiarity with e-learning software, learning management systems and web-based evaluation tools.
