Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading building envelope solution supplier that effectively drives energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are seeking a Slitter Operator in our Petrolia Henry Plant.
Starting Pay$24.92 + $1.45 nights, + $2.30 weekends.
Job SummaryThis position is a unionized role within our production team. As a Slitter Operator, you will learn, understand, and implement all of our policies and procedures to help manufacture the highest quality products in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. You will routinely perform your duties with minimal supervision, independently, and in a team with another operator. You must be able to work in an environment with many distractions, maintaining a high level of accuracy and safety while performing your duties.
No travel is required for this position.
- Operate slitting/packaging cell to cut, package, and label various rolled roofing products.
- Provide support to maintenance team members to troubleshoot machine issues and implement improvements within the department.
- Demonstrate urgency in achieving results.
- Perform daily walks around the work area to ensure guards and safety devices are in place.
- Perform checks on safety equipment and record results as part of an ongoing safety program.
- Validate the acceptability of product packaging and counts.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Working knowledge of safety standards (WHMIS).
- Ability to work rotating shifts.
- Ability to work independently without supervision and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to uphold confidentiality.
- Ability to work overtime to meet customer requirements.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by Team Leader.
- High School Diploma required or equivalent.
- Two to Three Years of Manufacturing experience.
- Experience working with manufacturing machines is an asset.
- Manufacturing plant environment may be dirty, dusty, and hotter/colder than office settings.
- Shift: Monday – Sunday; 7:00 am – 7:00 pm & 7:00 pm – 7:00 am.
- Eye and hearing protection required at all times on the production floor.
- Safety toe shoes (steel/composite) on the production floor.
- Other PPE as defined by management within the assigned department.
