Position Title
Associate Faculty – Unmanned Aircraft Systems
Position SummaryPart‑time instructional role focused on the UAS Technology Program. The instructor will lead lecture and lab courses, collaborate with an industry advisory board, and provide hands‑on instruction covering electronics, mechanics, GIS, FAA licensing, safety, and career opportunities.
Responsibilities- Develop, deliver, and assess lecture and laboratory materials for assigned courses.
- Maintain accurate student records, attendance rosters, and grade reports.
- Adhere to course outlines, district policies, and college regulations.
- Provide students with a written syllabus at the beginning of each course.
- Conduct office hours (minimum 0.5 hour per section).
- Support student wellness and refer to campus counseling services.
- Foster a positive, harassment‑free learning environment and uphold academic freedom.
- Possess a bachelor’s degree (or higher) AND two years of professional experience, OR an associate degree and six years of professional experience.
- Demonstrate understanding of and sensitivity to a diverse student body, including disability and sexual orientation considerations.
- Small UAS operator with field instruction experience.
- Current FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot License.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and teamwork capability.
- Experience with fixed‑wing and quad‑rotor UAS, data processing, and image analysis (e.g., ArcGIS, ERDAS, Pix4D, Agisoft, Drone 2 Map).
- Knowledge of sensor design, hardware maintenance, and UAS mission planning.
