Up to 67% of a full‑time load, prorated salary $38,464–$55,582 per semester. - Coverage
:
Spring, Summer, and/or Fall semesters, lecture‑discussion, online, or distance‑education formats.
- Education:
one of the following – Master’s degree in political science, government, or international relations;
Bachelor’s degree in any of the above plus a master’s in a related field; valid California Community College Instructor’s Credential in Political Science; or equivalent. - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with persons from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Ability to teach American Government and other Political Science courses.
- Provide instruction for assigned courses, including in‑class or online/distance education activities, evaluation of student work, and consultation outside class.
- Maintain accurate class and other records; submit attendance rosters and grade reports on time.
- Follow course outlines and maintain office hours (0.5 hours per week per section).
- Adhere to district and college regulations, policies and programs.
- Supply each student with a written syllabus at course start per Faculty Handbook.
- Refer students to appropriate college sources for counseling and services.
- Assist students in meeting requirements for successful achievement.
- Collaborate within the college community, fostering a respectful and harassment‑free environment.
- Demonstrate respect for the dignity of each individual.
- Applications screened by department representatives as needed; qualified applicants will be contacted for interview.
- Interview travel expenses are the candidate’s responsibility.
