• Education:
  
  one of the following – Master’s degree in political science, government, or international relations;
  Bachelor’s degree in any of the above plus a master’s in a related field; valid California Community College Instructor’s Credential in Political Science; or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with persons from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.

• Ability to teach American Government and other Political Science courses.

• Provide instruction for assigned courses, including in‑class or online/distance education activities, evaluation of student work, and consultation outside class.
• Maintain accurate class and other records; submit attendance rosters and grade reports on time.
• Follow course outlines and maintain office hours (0.5 hours per week per section).
• Adhere to district and college regulations, policies and programs.
• Supply each student with a written syllabus at course start per Faculty Handbook.
• Refer students to appropriate college sources for counseling and services.
• Assist students in meeting requirements for successful achievement.
• Collaborate within the college community, fostering a respectful and harassment‑free environment.
• Demonstrate respect for the dignity of each individual.
