West Valley College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, tenure-track instructor in the Business Department. West Valley College is part of the West Valley-Mission Community College District. Designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution, West Valley College enrolls over 15,000 students annually and is minutes away from the heart of the Silicon Valley in a beautiful park-like setting on 143 wooded acres.

The successful candidate will be qualified to teach in a variety of subject matter areas. The subject matters may include, but are not limited to, Business Math, Marketing, Introduction to Business, Small Business Start-up, Entrepreneurship, Business Management, Business and Society, Business Law, Human Resources, Negotiations, Project Management, and others. The candidate will be expected to teach in person, asynchronously, and synchronously.
In-person class assignments may include nights and weekends. The candidate is expected to be flexible regarding the assignment of day and evening instruction. Candidates should expect a job that requires being on campus five days a week.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Facilitate classroom instruction;
Teach assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives;
Develop and maintain syllabus materials;
Evaluate student performance;
Maintain grades, enter midterm and final grades;
Respond promptly to student inquiries;
Maintain attendance records according to West Valley College standards;
Integrate current and emerging instructional delivery technologies into the learning process;
Maintain professional standards that protect student confidentiality;
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing using discretion, patience, and courtesy.
