Job Summary

Provides professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and in accordance with the ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. The Intervention Registered Nurse is responsible for the performance of diversified nursing functions in emergency or other unpredictable situations requiring additional nursing care in addition to the basic Registered Professional Nurse job description.

The Intervention Registered Nurse is specially trained to float to any patient care area to meet the varying needs as assessed by the Administrative Supervisor.

Shift: Part time, 24 hours a week, 2-12 hour shifts. It will comprise of both day and mid shfits. (7a-7p and 11a-11p)

Salary Details:

Hourly rate is determined by years of worked experience as an RN, education level, and internal equity within organization. Minimum rate starting at $34.10, max of salary range is $52.90. In addition to hourly rate, if candidate holds an approved certification position qualifies for certification pay of $1.50.

Required Qualifications

* Require graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program. For new hires after 2012, Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN) is required within specified timeframe as outlined in the New Hire BSN Agreement policy (126.045).

* Require minimum of three (3) years current registered nurse experience in the areas of cardiac or critical care.

* Require basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications.

* Require National Institute of Health (NIH) Stroke certification by the end of orientation.

* Require ACLS certification upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

* Prefer strong medical-surgical, critical care and/or obstetric skills.

* Prefer willingness to be cross-trained in all critical care and specialty areas with annual competency skills maintained.

* Prefer good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to function well under stress.

* Prefer demonstrated knowledge of growth and development and possesses ability to assess, interact, communicate, and care for age specific patient population.

ACLS:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support

BLS:
Basic Life Support/CPR

FL RN: FL Registered Nurse License
