In this position, you will also organize, plan, and supervise the activities of the Land Development Inspection and Lot Drainage Teams, coordinating closely with other departments and external agencies. Apply today! About the Position In this role, you will be responsible for... Land Development Project Review Perform detailed technical reviews of land development plans and manage multiple projects through approval.
Ensure compliance with county regulations and provide timely, high-quality feedback within established time frames. Maintain project files, checklists, and documentation to support efficient review and inspection processes. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve design or compliance issues. Field Oversight and Coordination Supervise Land Development Inspectors and Lot Drainage Teams, monitoring construction and inspection activities. Review lot drainage plans and address field concerns through site visits and technical reports.
Coordinate with inspection teams, other county departments, and outside agencies such as FDOT and SWFWMD. Serve as a point of contact for citizen inquiries and stakeholder communication. Administrative and Public Support Prepare Commission packets, technical presentations, and other project documentation. Participate in public meetings, workshops, and committee discussions related to land development projects. Assist with Unified Development Code (UDC) updates, budget preparation, and fee assessments.
Support continuous improvement through process updates and interdepartmental collaboration. About the Schedule
Work Hours:
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Typical Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. (no weekends!) As a reminder, all county employees are considered essential and must be prepared to protect and support the community and its citizens. Each employee, without exception, will have a duty assignment and be required to work during a disaster or declared emergency. About You To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Civil Engineering or a technically related engineering field with 4(+) years of related Civil Engineering or infrastructure construction/inspection experience. OR:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field with 3(+) years of related Civil Engineering or infrastructure construction/inspection experience. Must be a registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida or have the ability to obtain within 12 months from the date of hire. The ideal candidate has the following knowledge, skills, and/or abilities:
