Senior Accountant (Possible Contract-to-Hire)

Location:

Sarasota, FL (Hybrid - 3 days onsite)

Compensation: $80,000 - $95,000 (conversion salary range)

Schedule:

8:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Industry: Consumer Packaging / Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant on a contract-to-hire basis. This individual will play a critical role in stabilizing and improving the month-end close process post-acquisition while supporting ongoing growth initiatives.

The accounting team operates with one consolidated set of books covering U.S. and Canadian operations. The ideal candidate is hands-on, resourceful, and comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

+ Oversee and review work prepared by the Staff Accountant

+ Lead and support the month-end close process (currently 15 days; goal to improve)

+ Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations

+ Manage inventory accounting processes, including:

+ Reviewing warehouse reports

+ Matching purchase orders to supplier invoices

+ Reconciling inventory accounts

+ Support integration of acquired entities into existing accounting processes

+ Utilize ERP system (Priority) and advanced Excel for reporting and analysis

+ Assist in process improvements to streamline close and reporting cycles

Requirements

Qualifications

Required:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting

+ 5+ years of progressive accounting experience

+ Strong month-end close experience

+ Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, data analysis)

+ Experience reviewing or supervising staff-level accounting work

+ Strong balance sheet reconciliation experience

Preferred:

+ Inventory accounting experience

+ Experience in consumer packaging, manufacturing, or distribution

+ Experience in a private equity-backed environment

+ ERP system experience (Priority a plus)
