Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Sarasota, Florida. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills to oversee financial processes and ensure accuracy in reporting. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting and a proven ability to handle complex financial tasks.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion.

- Oversee the general ledger, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

- Prepare and post journal entries to support financial reporting processes.

- Conduct account reconciliations to verify accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

- Handle bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.

- Assist with financial reporting, providing insights and analysis as needed.

- Monitor compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.

- Provide support during audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports. Requirements

- 5 + years of accounting experience with a focus on detail-oriented work.

- Proficiency in month-end close procedures and general ledger management.

- Strong knowledge of journal entries and account reconciliation.

- Experience with bank reconciliations and financial reporting.

- Experience in construction industry

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
