It is the purpose of this position to review, comment then plan for implementation of codes, standards and client specifications into all Gas Tech estimating activities. The responsibility of the position is to ensure that all compliance requirements are captured and presented to estimating accurately and on time. It is also required that compliance requirements are reviewed for relevance, optimization and competitive value.
It is the goal of this position to ensure Gas Tech is the most highly respected provider of process equipment and services for the clients and in the industries we serve.
- Review each Request for Quotation (RFQ) for relevant client, code and standards requirements.
- Present the cost and time for project compliance in event of award.
- Ensure all estimates represent compliance with the Quality Systems Manual.
- Identify and present sub-tier supplier requirements to be included in the Quotation.
- Determine and advise on manufacturing capacities, to better improve estimate project delivery accuracy.
- Assist in quotation-phase client communications/negotiations for specification compliance issues.
- Assist setting client-unspecified equipment compliance standards for common Gas Tech products.
- Assist with securing vendor price estimates, including major equipment, parts and subcontract services.
- Attend and provide input in all project kick-off and manufacturing kick-off meetings.
- Liaison with Product Engineering after project award for incorporation of atypical client requirements.
- Be the prime source for specification compliance arbitration, during project execution.
- Assist preparing estimates that comply with the client RFQ.
- Assist preparing, maintaining, recording estimating files, and updating customer relations management (CRM) system.
- Establish relationships with vendors in the oil and gas market pertaining to process equipment.
- Keep vendor price lists current.
- Transfer cost estimates from awarded projects from the estimating tool to the enterprise resource planning (ERP) System
- Must be able to communicate and effectively deal with all members of the staff.
- A moderate level of both supplier and customer contact is required. Occasional travel may be required.
- At least a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in estimating, engineering, or fabrication of ASME pressure vessels and/or code-driven process equipment.
- Demonstrated experience with ASME Section VIII pressure vessels, including awareness of high-pressure service, thick-wall fabrication, and code-driven cost impacts (e.g., PWHT, NDE, testing, documentation).
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, vessel drawings, data sheets, and client specifications.
- Experience estimating pressure vessels is required; experience estimating packaged equipment or process skids (including piping, structural steel, and bought-out equipment) is preferred.
- Familiarity with fabrication workflows, vendor pricing, and manufacturing cost drivers in a code-regulated environment is required.
