The Lab Manager will lead daily lab operations, ensuring exceptional delivery of analytical, manufacturing, and quality control protocols. This role will also manage a team of technicians and scientists focused on antibody production, validation, and related laboratory processes.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily lab functions: workflow planning, resource allocation, safety compliance, and regulatory adherence.
- Supervise, mentor, and coach lab staff-setting performance goals and supporting professional development.
- Coordinate and optimize antibody production and QC processes (e.g., contract manufacturing, lyophilization, labeling, packaging).
- Enforce AAALAC, ISO, FDA, and QA/QC best practices to sustain product quality and safety.
- Ensure data integrity and maintain accurate documentation (lab notebooks, batch records, SOPs).
- Drive continuous process improvements: enhance productivity, reduce errors, and implement lean laboratory practices.
- Manage inventory, equipment calibration, and maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Regulatory Affairs to support operational targets.
- Prepare and deliver lab performance reports and KPI updates for senior management.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or related field
- 5+ years in a laboratory setting with 2+ years in a supervisory role
- Hands-on experience in antibody or protein-based assays, manufacturing, and QC
- Strong understanding of regulatory standards (AAALAC, ISO, FDA) and laboratory safety
- Proficient in laboratory data management systems, documentation, and SOPs
- Proven leadership, communication, and team management abilities
Preferred:
- Master's degree or equivalent technical certification
- Experience with lyophilization, IVD kit packaging, or monoclonal antibody contract services
- Hands-on knowledge of instrumentation related to monoclonal antibody manufacturing
