Staff Accountant at Soapy Joe's Car Wash

The Staff Accountant contributes to the accounting operations of the company, supporting the preparation of periodic financial reporting and maintaining an adequate system of accounting records. The role participates in key general ledger activities, including monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing procedures, and other ad‑hoc tasks such as cash flow reporting and audits. The Staff Accountant also serves as a role model for the company’s core values.

• Support and assist the accounting and development team with construction requests and permit renewals.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and financial reporting, including inventory, GL reconciliations, cash management, and project reporting as needed.
• Provide overall financial accounting support, including financial reporting, audit support, financial analysis, and other projects.
• Participate in the development and modification of accounting/financial policies, procedures, and practices as necessary.
• Ensure accounting/financial standards are maintained and provide audit support to outside auditors during year‑end and interim financial audits.

DEGREE

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent experience, with 1 to 3 years of progressively responsible experience at a mid‑size growth‑oriented company.

EXPERIENCE

• Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience preferred.
• Experience in a multi‑entity environment preferred.
• Demonstrated integrity, credibility, and commitment to the corporate mission.
• Flexible and able to multitask within an ambiguous, fast‑moving environment, driving toward clarity and solutions.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and problem‑solving skills.

PHYSICAL

• Ability to remain in a stationary seated or standing position for various durations.
• Ability to move about to access tools and office equipment.
• Ability to consistently operate a computer or other electronic device.
• Ability to ascend or descend a ladder, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, lift overhead, twist, and turn the body when appropriate.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.

Salary: $35–$37.50 per hour
