Custodian

Overview

The custodian is responsible for the daily care and upkeep of the Head Start Center. Keeps the facility clean and sanitary.

• Daily and as necessary, clean and disinfect all bathrooms including fixtures and walls.
• Replenish all tissue and paper towel dispensers daily.
• Empty all trash from classrooms, offices, kitchen, etc. daily.
• Clean all inside windows once a month
• Clean all outside windows twice during program year
• Dust mop, wet mop and/or vacuum all floors daily
• Strip and/or wax all hard surface floors once per season, or as needed
• Steam clean all carpet areas once per season or as needed
• Order all custodial supplies, with approval of Area Director
• Dust and/or remove cobwebs from all vertical and horizontal surfaces weekly.
• Replace light bulbs as needed
• Assist with keeping outside Center grounds picked up and free of trash
• Responsible for minor repairs to facility
• Assist with maintenance of facility
• Other duties as assigned and appropriate to the position.

• High School/GED;
  Able to read and write English;
  Able to lift 50 lb.;
  Custodial Experience desirable;
  Employment physical and TB test;
  Current First Aid and CPR certification.

• Escuela secundaria / Examen General equivalente a diploma secundaria;
  Capaz de leer y escribir inglés;
  Capaz de levantar 50 lb.;
  Experiencia de custodia deseable;
  Empleo físico y prueba de tuberculosis;
  Certificación de primeros auxilios y RCP actual.
