Experience
  • Has the ability to work independently & resourcefully within a small company environment.
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience as a helper in the construction industry or equivalent knowledge of the industry.
  • Must have a valid class C driver’s license & clean driving record.
  • Has the ability to communicate & follow instruction well.
  • Has the ability to operate a variety of hand tools & equipment used by Pump Man Nor Cal.
  • Has the ability to read and interpret basic drawings & instructions.
  • Has the ability to be flexible in job duties and be willing to help out with tasks not specifically listed in their job description.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, talk, hear & reach with hands & arms.
  • Must be able to occasionally climb, balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to perform heavy physical labor including lifting, carrying and/or moving items up to 80 pounds.
  • Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Exposure to outside weather conditions including heat, cold & wet; exposure to unpleasant odors, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles & moderate noise levels.
Job Description & Duties
  • Load & unload materials & equipment as instructed.
  • Assist Pump Mechanic on a variety of tasks to complete projects.
  • Perform well tests from start to finish with supervision and/or instruction.
  • Pull water samples for water quality testing (in-house & lab) with supervision and/or instruction.
  • Operate hand tools in a safe and effective manner.
  • Operate large equipment with close supervision of the Pump Mechanic in charge.
  • Basic operation of Rig with close supervision of the Pump Mechanic in charge.
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical & carpentry with supervision and/or instruction.
  • Maintain Rig, vehicle & equipment as instructed with supervision.
  • Pickup parts from vendors.
  • Keep shop and office tidy; manage trash as needed.
  • Prepare stock order lists upon request.
  • Complete specific tasks within allotted time per instructions/directions.
  • Complete paperwork (timecards, job cards, etc.) in a neat and timely manner.
Daily Priorities
  • Load & unload for projects as instructed.
  • Assist Pump Mechanic to prepare for and complete projects.
  • Complete paperwork and manage stock for Rig/Vehicle.
