The position of Certifying Scientist is within our Toxicology Laboratories located at Santa Rosa, CA. This critical role focuses on the review and certification of GC/MS and LC/MS/MS data following instrumental analysis for drugs of abuse. The role will be instrumental in delivering accurate, high-quality, and timely results to our clients.

Monday - Friday 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM

• Perform laboratory tests in accordance with laboratory standard procedures.
• Review and certify forensic toxicology test results.
• Document calibration and quality control results for forensic test data.
• Provide assistance, training and support for laboratory technicians.
• Reorder lab supplies, reagents, or consumables as authorized.
• Follow all new and revised lab procedures as directed by the Department Manager, General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, or Lab Director.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Department Manager, General Supervisor, Technical Supervisor, or Lab Director.

• University degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Medical Technology, or related chemical or biological sciences.
• 1-2 years’ experience within an analytical laboratory.

• Experience reviewing mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS) data within a toxicology laboratory setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong work ethic with commitment to safety, compliance, and quality.

The base pay for this position is $24.40 – $48.80 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
