Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Care / Pre-Op PACU

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Ambulatory Care and Pre-Op/PACU to join a dynamic outpatient surgical team in Santa Rosa, CA. This role involves providing pre-operative and post-anesthesia care for patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative patient assessments and review patient history and physical documentation.
• Prepare patients for surgery by administering pre-op medications and education.
• Monitor patients during Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery following anesthesia.
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation and analgesia, including narcotics and reversal agents.
• Assess and manage pain, vital signs, and post-operative complications.
• Provide discharge instructions and follow-up communication to ensure continuity of care.
• Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
• Float to Main PACU when needed.

Requirements

• Active California RN License (or pending accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Experience in Pre-Op, Phase I PACU, and Phase II Recovery preferred
• Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred
• Ability to manage patients across multiple age groups including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
