Registered Nurse – Ambulatory Care / Pre-Op PACU
📍 Santa Rosa, CA
⏳ Duration: 13 Weeks
🕒 Shift: Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
💼 Specialty: Outpatient Pre-Op / PACU
We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Ambulatory Care and Pre-Op/PACU to join a dynamic outpatient surgical team in Santa Rosa, CA. This role involves providing pre-operative and post-anesthesia care for patients undergoing outpatient surgical procedures in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform pre-operative patient assessments and review patient history and physical documentation.
- Prepare patients for surgery by administering pre-op medications and education.
- Monitor patients during Phase I and Phase II PACU recovery following anesthesia.
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation and analgesia, including narcotics and reversal agents.
- Assess and manage pain, vital signs, and post-operative complications.
- Provide discharge instructions and follow-up communication to ensure continuity of care.
- Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
- Float to Main PACU when needed.
Requirements
- Active California RN License (or pending accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Experience in Pre-Op, Phase I PACU, and Phase II Recovery preferred
- Familiarity with Epic charting system preferred
- Ability to manage patients across multiple age groups including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
