Overview
Summary: This Human Resources Business Partner will be joining our team in Santa Rosa, CA. This pivotal role requires a seasoned HR professional with at least five years of experience, including prior leadership or management experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise working with both unionized and non-unionized employees, fostering positive workplace relationships and ensuring compliance with labor regulations. TravelTravel Expectations: This position involves frequent travel, with approximately 50% of time spent visiting our additional office locations in Oakland and Mira Loma, CA. All travel expenses will be fully covered by DON.
Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesRequired:
- Bachelor's degree; 3+ years of progressive HR experience in generalist or senior generalist capacity
- Broad human resources knowledge with experience in colleague relations, recruitment, benefits, and compensation
- Prior experience with unions a plus
- Strong people skills with the ability to interact with all levels of colleagues and management
- Must travel as needed
- Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of progressive HR experience
- Working knowledge of Workday. PHR or SPHR certified.
- Provide counsel to colleagues and management ensuring legal compliance with policy and laws.
- Conduct internal investigations in accordance with Company policy and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with management to successfully execute the annual performance review cycles.
- Provide guidance to management regarding performance issues.
- Work with Union representatives to facilitate a good working relationship as needed.
- Partner with management to address any grievance administration, while ensuring compliance with the CBA.
- Oversee local unemployment compensation claims, local workers’ compensation claims and OSHA reporting logs to ensure compliance.
- Possess an intimate understanding of the leave of absence process, including but not limited to FMLA and workers' compensation.
- Actively engage with other HR team members around best practices and identify opportunities to create consistency where necessary.
- Continue to partner with Sysco's Centers of Excellence (COE) to execute best practices.
- Support the Director of HR in executing HR strategic initiatives.
- Maintain current knowledge of state and local DOT standards and requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
