Position: FT Homeschool Teacher Needed for 4th Grader in Santa Rosa (Long-term Temp)

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9/10 AM - 5 PM

Salary: $50-$75/hour D.O.E. + standard benefits (paid vacation, sick days, holidays)

Children: 1 x 4th grader

Pets: Not currently but family is considering getting a dog

Contract duration: now through June/July roughly

A warm, easygoing family in Santa Rosa is seeking a homeschool professional to create an accelerated program for their son who is in 4th grade. They recently relocated from Australia and need to have him ready for 5th grade this September. Their son is funny, quick-witted, bright and has shown gifted abilities as well as some ADHD tendencies.

This person will be responsible for planning curriculum and tracking progress, leaning into creativity (not just printing worksheets), incorporating nature, and planning extracurriculars such as music classes, etc. Someone who is familiar with the area and proactively connect with other homeschooled children in their community and plan fun activities outside the home will be the best fit. Additional duties include preparing his meals and light tidying of his room, play area, and learning space.

Candidates must have prior homeschooling experience preferably with HNW/HP families, experience with elementary-age children, and already residing in the area (living within 35-40 mins max of Santa Rosa).

• Must have prior homeschooling experience with excellent verifiable references
• Prior experience homeschooling for HNW/HP families strongly preferred

• Fluency in English
• Homeschooling / teaching credentials
• Experience working with kids with ADHD

• MUST already be residing locally in Marin / Wine Country
• COVID-vaccinated preferred
• TB and Tdap vaccine
• CPR Certified
• Valid driver with clean record with reliable vehicle for work-related driving (sometimes a household car will be available, otherwise the candidate should be comfortable using their own with mileage reimbursement)
• Passport-ready; flexibility to travel domestic/international approximately once a month anywhere from 2-14 days
• Comfortable holding boundaries; creating structure and discipline
• Professional
• Respectful of parent philosophies and approaches to childcare

• Experience working with kids with ADHD
• Must have background in homeschooling with HNW/HP families

• Okay with dogs (family does not currently have a pet but may be getting one)

• Planning accelerated curriculum and tracking progress for completion of 4th grade / 5th grade readiness
