The Community Child Care Council is looking for a Child Care Resource Navigator to join the 4

Cs team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service to clients, providers, and community members including facilitating and or supporting training for various programs. In addition to answering department phone calls, the Child Care Resource Navigator is responsible for updating the Childcare Eligibility List (CEL). The Specialist will have additional program responsibilities, such as Case Management, CCIP, etc. driven by grants and funding.

PRIMARY

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide information and referrals to persons seeking child care and related services primarily by phone.
  • Provide training information and resources to child care providers by phone, in-person or via Zoom.
  • Accurately add family information into the Childcare Eligibility List (CEL) and update as needed.
  • Provide coverage to Front Desk staff on lunches and breaks, as needed.
  • Maintain up to date information on family child care homes and centers in our service area using the R&R database.
  • Provide community resources information to clients, parents, providers, and staff.
  • Trained on Trust Line Registry process and serve as primary or back up for the Trust Line Registry.
  • Additional program responsibilities as needed, such as Case Management, CCIP, etc.
  • Facilitating and or supporting training for various programs.
  • Collect and enter data and prepare program reports monthly.
  • Comply with all applicable program regulations and Funding Terms and Conditions.
  • May provide input to supervisors on the continued development and improvement of department procedures, staff coverage and annual program requirements.
  • May be asked to support and/or assist with training for new staff and/or programs including “train the trainers”, and cross-training among various programs.
  • Represent 4

    Cs at community functions and functions as liaison with related child care agencies.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including but not limited to, having a friendly and approachable tone of voice and body language, returning phone calls within twenty-four hours of receipt of the call, and maintaining positive interactions with others.
  • Assist Supervisor and other team members with department duties as assigned.
  • Attend and participate in department staff meetings, monthly all office staff meetings, and department retreats.
  • May be asked to serve on a 4

    Cs Agency committee by your Supervisor/Manager. Participation and service on a minimum of one agency or department committee is encouraged.
  • Participate at 4

    Cs community outreach events for a minimum of eight hours per year.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • None
  • REQUIRED:

    Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish (or other languages, as needed).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, and internet. Basic knowledge of office equipment.
  • Detail oriented. Demonstrated accuracy with data input.
  • Experience and ability to work well as a team and with people from various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of current trends in child care and child development.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and insured vehicle.
  • Available to work some evening and weekend hours, as needed.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 24 ECE units and/or 2 years’ experience in a social service or child care agency.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Work from home (WFH)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to fulfill physical requirements of the job including lifting up to 35 pounds on occasion, range of movement including squatting, bending, reaching, standing, and sitting.
TRAVEL:
  • Occasionally, 10% for training or staff meetings.
