Bring your fiscal knowledge and experience to the Sheriff's Office and join the team as a Senior Accounting Specialist. As a Sheriff's Office Senior Accounting Specialist, you will play a vital role in reconciling the department's internal financial records, using the County Enterprise Financial System and Civil Case Management System. In addition, you will:

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile internal financial records with County systems
• Post payments and prepare deposits in a timely and accurate manner
• Prepare invoices, process journal vouchers, and follow up on part-due accounts as needed
• Coordinate travel arrangements for staff members attending trainings, at times including bookings and logistics
• Process travel reimbursements, following County of Sonoma policies and procedures
• Reconcile monthly Cal-Card statements for the Sheriff's Office staff
• Ensure timely and accurate processing for all transactions
• Be a team player and support other Senior Account Clerks in the department as needed

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with staff of all levels
• An intellectual curiosity with an aptitude for working with numbers and detail-oriented tasks

• Interest in public service and the accounting fields is a plus in this role
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
• Experience with Oracle's People Soft Enterprise Financial software and fund accounting
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications
