Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery RN – Southern California

Start Date: April 6, 2026
Location: Santa Monica, California
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 36 hours per week; every other weekend required; no on-call; may float to postpartum as needed

Highlights:

• Beachside acute care hospital with 266 staffed beds and approximately 200-300 deliveries per month
• Work in a 16-room perinatal unit: 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
• Epic charting system; scrubs provided for L&D
• No on-call required; opportunity to expand skills into postpartum couplet care and newborn delivery roles
• Full interdisciplinary support including respiratory, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and interpretation services
• High-profile patient population requiring exceptional discretion and professionalism

Requirements:

• Active California RN license (must be in hand prior to submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Certifications:
  
  AWHONN Advanced (or NCC EFM), ACLS, BLS, NRP, and FHM (AHA certifications required for ACLS/BLS)
• Epic charting experience required
• Skills:
  
  Fetal heart monitoring, high-risk pregnancy monitoring, scrubbing and circulating for C-sections, sterile vaginal exams, assisting with vaginal deliveries
• LA County fire card within the last 30 days required
• Ability to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
