Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Amb Care Pat Supv 2 is responsible for assisting with clinical management and administrative coordination for clinics within the assigned Region. The position is a combination of clinical (direct care) and administrative nursing responsibilities

Job Qualifications

* Required:
· Current California RN License
· Bachelor's degree in nursing or Masters (must be able to provide Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program) ·
* BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross ·
* 3 years ER, Acute Care or Urgent Care and Pediatric Experience
* Knowledge of the Adult and Pediatric patient population and practice operations
* Knowledge of all aspects procedures and medication administration in an urgent care setting
* Ability to assume direct involvement and provide backup support during clinic emergencies and in patient related problem solving
* Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through for multiple patient treatments
* Phlebotomy and IV skills
* Skill in performing with frequent interruptions an/or distractions including the ability to accept equivocal circumstances and respond and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
* Ability to utilize appropriate interpersonal skills in all interactions
* Ability to accept direction and promptly follow through on other duties as assigned with minimal supervision
* Experience and knowledge to accurately screen and triage acute patients
* Knowledge and experience to recognize abnormal laboratory values and respond
* Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with patients, peers, physicians and administrators
* Skill in listening perceptively, conveying awareness and responding to patients and visitors with health concerns using tact and discretion
* Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and general public in a high volume, clinical setting
* Ability to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference, and hostility
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and to work with sensitive and confidential information using discretion and judgment. Preferred:
· Possession of PICC line certification
* Knowledge and skill in Central line Catheter management and access
* Skill in usage of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as working knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform necessary blood tests and procedures
* Working knowledge of the UCLA registration system, appointment scheduling system and order entry system
