Nurse Manager - Medical Surgical

Overview

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of best practice for quality delivery of care and patient safety on the Medical-Surgical Unit. Will possess a knowledgeable resource to staff, and the ability to lead and communicate appropriately with physicians, other department managers, and staff.

Under general direction, and in accordance with the State of California Nurse Practice Act, and the goals, objectives and strategic plan of the organization, to provide leadership, plan, organize, and supervise personnel; to manage, report on, and provide resources for the Medical-Surgical Unit and to perform related work as required.

• Provide leadership, plan, organize, and supervise personnel on the Medical-Surgical Unit.
• Manage, report on, and provide resources for the Medical-Surgical Unit.
• Lead and communicate effectively with physicians, other department managers, and staff.

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, from an accredited college or university.
• California Registered Nurse License (upon hire).
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association (upon hire).
• Medical-Surgical certification, or obtain within 6 months of hire into the position.
• PCN certification, or obtain within 6 months of hire into the position.
• Experience as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital and experience in a Medical-Surgical Unit.

• Master's Degree
• Charge Nurse experience

Posted are the minimum and maximum wage rates; the successful candidate’s placement will be determined based on relevant experience and other factors. This base pay range may be supplemented by shift differentials and other compensation opportunities.
