Primary Duties and Responsibilities

You will offer guidance to team members by supervising nursing interventions and assigning related tasks. You will also assess patient, family and staff learning needs, deliver appropriate clinical education and promote effective working relationships.

This involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of dedicated professionals to develop and implement a care plan, including providing detailed care instructions. Join our UCLA Health Santa Monica Medical Center Emergency Medicine team today!

Job Qualifications
  • Current valid California RN license - required
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN or MSN degree - required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross - required
  • One year of direct RN experience in an Emergency Department setting - required
  • Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program must be provided upon hire
  • Clinical skills include patient assessment, IV start, knowledge of medications, IV infusions and airway management
  • Ability to provide appropriate care for high acuity patients such as stroke, STEMI, trauma, psych, and pediatric populations
  • Skill in implementing appropriate nursing interventions on a consistent basis
  • Ability to perform historical, physical and behavioral patient assessments
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plan actively involving patients, family, and staff
