Noctal is an early-stage, venture-backed AI audio startup reimagining sound design for creators, filmmakers, advertisers, and game studios. Our platform automates complex, time-intensive workflows so artists can focus on creativity. Seed funding of $2M secured, a small high-agency team, and traction with early partners.

The Role

Own key surfaces in our AI-powered creative app. You will translate Figma flows into fast, elegant React interfaces, collaborate tightly with design and backend, and help evolve our component library and front-end architecture. We subscribe to a Do/Say ratio, meaning do you follow through on what you say you’re going to do? If yes, you’ll do well with us.

What You’ll Do

• Build sleek, performant React interfaces for an AI-powered creative platform
• Translate Figma designs and UX flows into responsive, production-ready code
• Implement data fetching, state management, and caching patterns that are resilient and testable
• Collaborate with backend on clean contracts and release predictable increments
• Integrate with Python APIs for audio processing, ML outputs, and media management
• Instrument analytics and error monitoring so we measure what we ship
• Contribute to component libraries, testing, and frontend architecture decisions
• Bring creativity and ownership, help shape the look and feel of a product creators will love

What We’re Looking For

• Exceptional React skills (Hooks, functional components, modern ES6 )
• Strong eye for design, UX, and detail including mastery of Node.js and CSS/Tailwind.
• Comfort with Git-based workflows, code reviews, and tests (unit and E2E).
• Demonstrated expertise in Type Script for type-safe development and Next.js for server-side rendering and modern React applications.
• Hunger to learn fast, ship fast, and punch above your weight, tenure is less important than drive and talent
• Located in LA or willing to collaborate across time zones
• Experience with audio/video tools or creative software
• Contributions to open-source or personal projects showcasing your skills
• Experience in media streaming, rendering, and realtime playback

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs, especially for media or data-heavy applications
• Understanding of accessibility best practices for creative or media tools
• Familiarity with cloud deployment, CI/CD, or containerized workflows
• Prior work in a startup, high-growth, or high-agency environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to thrive in an asynchronous, remote-friendly team
