Senior Biomedical Technician

Senior Biomedical Technician at Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. This full‑time position works 8‑hour day shifts.

The Biomedical Equipment Technician III (BMET III) installs, inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, calibrates, and verifies the performance of highly complex biomedical equipment and systems, independently of technical supervision. The individual should be competent in the use of all applicable test equipment and tools required in the performance of duties.

Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in a technical/electronics field or military training or academic work aligned with AAMI’s Core Competencies for the Biomedical Equipment Technician; basic knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry, English and professional skills, with advanced levels of certification and training as needed. In‑depth understanding of common clinical terminology, anatomy, physiology, computers, and network architecture. Specific experience: detailed understanding and full communication of device support;

    advanced support of acuity equipment for direct patient care. Demonstrated mastery of clinical equipment such as radiological, laboratory, and network medical systems.
  • Driving may be necessary as part of this role. Caregivers are required to comply with all state laws and requirements for driving. Caregivers will be expected to provide proof of driver license and auto insurance upon request.
  • Five years of experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment, including manufacturers’ technical training certificates on at least two of the higher‑end equipment (e.g., anesthesia machines, ventilators, ultrasound machines, sterilizers) or service seminar certificates on radiology equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Biomedical Technician certification upon hire.
