Senior Phlebotomist at Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. This position is full-time and will work 8-hour, Day shifts.

Working under the supervision of the Cancer Center leadership team and in collaboration with the Cancer Center caregivers and providers, the Phlebotomy/Clinical MA role provides ancillary assistance to clinical staff of the Cancer Center and surroundings. Demonstrates professional communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to handle multiple demands. Assists in inventory ordering, receiving and stocking supplies/equipment, and maintains inventory control.

Participates in patient exam/procedural room preparation activities as directed. Ensures the order, functionality, availability and cleanliness of supplies and equipment. Coordinates repairs and communicates critical maintenance information to management. Participates in selected patient care activities such as greeting, escorting patients to exam/procedural rooms, logging/charting patient information in EMR, room turnover, and specialized equipment setup/breakdown and high-level disinfection processes. Prepares patients (height/weight, vital signs, procedural preparations).

Responds to phone calls and patient call system. Performs phlebotomy and coordinates collection of blood and other specimens from patients. Participates in meeting the department's budgetary objectives. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of hospital administration, clinical leadership and its representatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement
• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician I License Or
• California Certified Phlebotomy Technician II License
• 1 year experience as MA Clinical Tech
• 9 months Phlebotomy experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Upon hire:
  Medical Assistant Certification (CMA)
