Minimum QualificationsAny bachelor's degree AND two years coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level OR Any Associate's degree AND six years coaching experience at the collegiate level or the equivalent
Preferred Qualifications- Master's Degree in one of the following:
Physical Education - Exercise Science
- Education (with an emphasis in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Physiology of Excercise or Adaptive Physical Education)
OR
- A Bachelor's Degree in any of the above areas AND a Master's Degree in one of the following:
Any Life Science - Dance
- Physiology
- Health Education
- Recreation Administration
- Physical Therapy
- or the equivalent

Starting salary for Part Time Faculty is based on educational achievement and relevant prior employment experience up to but not beyond Step
4. Further step advancement shall occur at the beginning of the intersession or semester following completion of multiples of 30 LHE at Santa Monica College.
Candidates should show evidence of sensitivity to, and understanding of, the socioeconomic, academic, cultural and ethnic diversity within the college student population, including students with physical and/or learning disabilities, as these factors relate to differences in learning styles. Ideal candidates will have recent experience working with African American, Latinx, Native American and other racially minoritized students in the classroom, and a willingness to use culturally responsive instructional practices.
Candidates should also demonstrate sensitivity to issues of diversity and have the ability to motivate and teach community college students of diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds, sexual orientations, genders, cultures and learning styles, as well as students with disabilities or varied levels of academic preparation.
