Position Overview

The Social Media Marketing Manager will oversee the day-to-day management, strategic development, and execution of Black Bear’s corporate social channels. This role blends creativity, strategy, cultural fluency, and hands-on publishing and community management to elevate Black Bear’s digital presence. You will develop content that spotlights our brand identity, celebrates our films, and nurtures a passionate community of creators, fans, and industry partners.

This role requires a deep understanding of the entertainment landscape, creator culture, platform best practices, and the evolving social media ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Black Bear’s social media content strategy across Instagram, Tik Tok, X/Twitter, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, Linked In, and emerging platforms.
  • Translate brand priorities into social-first creative concepts.
  • Create and manage editorial calendars aligned with marketing, PR, corporate communications, and content release timelines.
  • Identify real-time moments, cultural trends, and platform opportunities that align with the Black Bear voice.
Content Creation & Publishing
  • Own daily publishing across all social platforms — writing copy, sourcing assets, posting content, and ensuring brand consistency.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to produce thumb-stopping social creative (static, short-form video, motion graphics, memes, etc.).
  • Manage social content for film and streaming announcements, trailers, partnerships, creators, and awards campaigns.
  • Ensure content is optimized per platform best practices and analytics insights.
Community Management & Engagement
  • Foster a strong, positive community aligned with Black Bear’s brand values.
  • Monitor conversations, respond to comments/messages, and elevate relevant insights and opportunities.
  • Partner with creators, talent, and influencers when amplifying releases or campaigns.
Analytics & Reporting
  • Track, analyze, and report platform performance.
  • Monitor competitor and industry trends to inform strategy.
  • Own KPIs across engagement, reach, growth, and content performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with film marketing, publicity, creative, and corporate teams to ensure alignment across all initiatives.
  • Support film marketing campaigns by adapting assets for social-first needs
  • Collaborate with external agencies as needed.
Qualifications
  • 3–5+ years of social media management experience, ideally in film, entertainment, media, or a culturally driven brand.
  • Deep expertise with Tik Tok, Instagram, X/Twitter, Linked In, Facebook, and other emerging platforms.
  • Strong copywriting, editing, creativity, and storytelling skills with a sharp brand voice.
  • Proven ability to conceptualize and create short-form video content.
  • Experience managing editorial calendars and juggling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of influencer culture, internet trends, and the digital entertainment space.
  • Proficiency with social analytics tools and design/video skills (Photoshop, Canva, Cap Cut, Adobe Suite, etc.).
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Passion for storytelling, culture, and the evolving world of film and media.

The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $100,000
